Kansas City Attune Knee System Attorneys
Nationwide Lawyers Handling Claims Against DePuy Synthes
Since 2011, the Attune Knee Replacement System has been marketed by healthcare giant DePuy Synthes as a “state-of-the-art” system that can realistically mimic natural knee movement. As a result, thousands of patients suffering from chronic knee pain and limited mobility were given Attune knee implants. However, by 2017 many patients and surgeons were reporting medical device failures within months after surgery – much faster than the 15 year lifespan of most artificial joints.
If you’ve experienced increased swelling, stiffness, and pain after receiving an Attune system, you could have grounds to sue DePuy Synthes and its parent company, Johnson & Johnson, for falsely representing this dangerous medical device. At Bertram & Graf, L.L.C., our trusted Kansas City Depuy injury attorneys focus our practice on pharmaceutical products, and can help you navigate the confusing world of medical devices. Because we work on contingency fees, you won’t pay a cent until we can win your case.

What Makes Attune Knee Systems Defective?
Although neither DePuy Synthes nor Johnson & Johnson have admitted to the device defect, it has been clearly documented by consumer advocacy groups and physicians. In the Journal of Knee Surgery, a panel of 9 orthopedic surgeons and medical experts published a report detailing the failures of the Attune Knee System.
Due to a fundamental design flaw, the “glue” that holds Attune Knee Systems in place does not adhere properly to the tibial knee bone, because the device surface is too smooth. This makes the entire system prone to loosening, and it can take many additional surgeries to correct the injuries that follow. Tellingly, the most recent version of the Attune implant does not have this defect, indicating that DePuy Synthes may recognize their mistake internally.
Once loosened, the original Attune Knee Replacement System can cause the following injuries:
- Decreased mobility
- Bone and tissue infections
- Muscle damage
- Swelling around the knee
- Unstable joints
- Permanent damage to knee joint
If you noticed any of the symptoms above after receiving your Attune implant, you could be eligible for compensation to cover your ongoing medical expenses, as well as your pain and suffering.
